Formula 1 racer Liam Lawson disclosed he narrowly avoided a potentially deadly collision during Sunday's Mexico City Grand Prix when two safety personnel crossed the track immediately ahead of his car
The dangerous situation happened on the third rotation when safety workers were spotted on the circuit as Lawson was getting back on the race following an quick visit to the pits to change his broken nose section

Official Investigation Underway
F1's overseeing organization, the FIA, is currently investigating the circumstances
"After an occurrence at turn one, the race directors was advised that wreckage remained on the track at the turning point of that curve" declared the FIA
"On lap three, safety personnel were notified and put on alert to access the circuit and recover the debris once every vehicle had gone by"
"As soon as it became apparent that Lawson had pitted, the orders to send officials were canceled and a safety warning flag was displayed in that zone"
