Football Recap: Denver Mount Late Comeback Versus Eagles, Baltimore Endure Record Home-field Defeat

Denver Broncos 21–17 Philadelphia Eagles

Denver's quarterback connected with an 11-yard scoring throw and JK Dobbins contributed another ground touchdown in the final period as the Broncos erased a two-touchdown disadvantage to hand the Philadelphia Eagles their first loss of the season. Denver's defense batted down the Eagles quarterback's final attempt on the game's concluding play to send the Super Bowl champions to just their second loss in their last 22 games. Denver (3-2) got fortunate in their comeback when the Eagles had a late fourth-down conversion called back on an illegal shift penalty called on running back Saquon Barkley.

Texans Dominate Depleted Ravens in Record Win

Houston's quarterback threw for 244 passing yards and four scoring throws, and the Texans (two wins and three losses) cruised to a 44-10 win over a depleted Baltimore team, equaling both the biggest away victory in Texans' history and the most lopsided home loss in Baltimore's annals. Baltimore (one win and four losses) were missing two-time MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson, and that was not their only problem. Defensive standouts multiple defensive leaders all missed the game, and the Ravens already were weakened on that side of the ball because of a cervical issue that concluded the defensive lineman's campaign. Baltimore were also without Pro Bowl blocker Ricard and offensive lineman Stanley.

Las Vegas Raiders 6–40 Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis' running back scored three rushing scores and a two-pointer, and Daniel Jones threw two touchdown passes as the Colts routed the Las Vegas Raiders. This decisive advantage was Indianapolis' biggest since the 2013 season. The quarterback finished 20 passes out of 29 attempts for 212 passing yards and moved to 4-1 as a starter this season, exceeding his combined victory total over the past two seasons with the New York Giants. Taylor carried 17 attempts for 66 yards and grabbed three passes for 20 yards. Indianapolis turned multiple takeaways into TDs. Las Vegas fell to four wins and one loss.

Cowboys Soar Past Jets in High-Scoring Game

Dallas' quarterback passed for four touchdown passes, leading the Cowboys to a comfortable win over the New York Jets. The Cowboys put points on the board on two 90-yard drives in the second quarter, despite being without four starters on the offensive line. The running back gained 135 yards and a touchdown and also caught a TD pass. Dallas, now two wins, two losses, and a tie, rebounded from a high-scoring draw against Green Bay last Sunday. The Jets are still without a victory at zero wins and five losses in Aaron Glenn's inaugural year as the leader.

Vikings Edge Browns in London Thriller

Vikings receiver Jordan Addison caught a short touchdown pass from Carson Wentz with under half a minute left to secure Minnesota a win over the Cleveland Browns at the UK venue. This methodical march gave the Vikings (three wins and two losses) a much-needed win on their overseas journey, which started with a narrow defeat to the Pittsburgh in Ireland last week. It also spoiled the rookie's debut as starter, as the Browns first-year player put his team (one win and four losses) in contention by passing for two touchdown passes. Another first-year player Quinshon Judkins gained 110 rushing yards on 23 carries. The quarterback overcame a shoulder injury that briefly forced him out and directed two touchdown marches in the second half.

Miami Dolphins 24-27 Carolina Panthers

Bryce Young threw for two scores and Rico Dowdle ran for 206 rushing yards and a touchdown as the Panthers rallied past the Dolphins in Charlotte. Young's quick throw to rookie tight end Mitchell Evans with 1:59 to play gave the Panthers (two wins and three losses) the lead for good as they matched the biggest rally to win a game in team history by overcoming a large deficit. Young had a horrific first quarter, but he ended up 19-for-30 passing for 198 passing yards with an interception. Dowdle, filling in for the sidelined starter, did his damage on the run on 23 attempts, falling four yards of matching the team's all-time rushing mark. The Dolphins' quarterback threw 27 of 36 for 256 passing yards with three scores and Jaylen Waddle accumulated 110 receiving yards on six receptions and scored a touchdown, but the Miami (one win and four losses) dropped to 0-3 in road games.

New York Giants 14–26 New Orleans Saints

New Orleans' quarterback passed for a long touchdown to Rashid Shaheed, defensive back Howden returned a fumble the length of the field for a touchdown, and New Orleans defeated the turnover-prone New York Giants for the Saints' first victory under first-year head coach Moore. Rattler secured his maiden win in 11 professional starts, passing for 225 passing yards without a turnover. New York's first-year signal-caller Jaxson Dart, who secured his first career start last week, threw for 202 passing yards and two scores, but also committed errors on three occasions. New York turned the ball over on five separate plays in all, with none worse than when the defender forced a fumble from running back Cam Skattebo, leading to the safety's touchdown. Both teams are one win and four losses.
